Crossmen Drum & Bugle Corps
In October of 1974, the 507 Hornets and Keystone Regiment merged in the outskirts of Pennsylvania to form what is now Crossmen. Since then, Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps have grown to become a perennial Drum Corps International (DCI) World Champion Finalist, reaching DCI Finals 29 times in the corps’ over 40-year history.
In the fall of 2006, Crossmen moved operations to San Antonio from our former home in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The Crossmen have served thousands of students throughout its history, providing not only music education, but also life-lessons to carry with them as they leave the world of drum corps to pursue their careers.
Crossmen Productions Inc
Crossmen Productions, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) education and youth development organization assisting young people in becoming outstanding individuals through music and the performing arts. Since our founding in October 1974, Crossmen DCI groups have enriched and shaped the lives of young musicians and performers.
What is Drum Corps?
Modern drum corps are comprised of 165 performers who range in age from about 14 to 22. Each corps is made up of brass musicians, percussionists and a color guard. They perform an 11-minute program on a standard football field. Programs are extravagant displays of musical excellence, marching precision, color, drama, dance and emotion. All members of the corps (except the front percussion ensemble) march in intricate formations which are coordinated with the musical productions.
Performer Benefits?
Drum corps is an activity that succeeds in doing much more than provide a performance opportunity for students or entertainment for the audience. Through the drum corps experience, students will learn useful life skills such as leadership, goal-setting and teamwork, among others. The Crossmen provides opportunities for students to exercise their potential, not only as musicians, but as leaders in their communities. It is the mission of every program of Crossmen Productions to provide education and youth development organization assisting young people in becoming outstanding individuals through music and the performing arts.
