Abby Rieger
Drum Major Teaching Specialist
Abby Rieger is honored to begin teaching leadership and conducting at the Crossmen! Abby currently is the Assistant Director of Bands at Princeton High School in Princeton, Texas. They recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors of Music Education. Prior to student teaching in Aubrey ISD, Abby taught as a marching band technician at Wakeland High School and Rock Hill High School.
Additionally, Abby served as a conductor at the Bluecoats during the 2023 season, earning a silver medal at DCI World Class Finals. Prior to their time at the Bluecoats, they served as a drum major for the Santa Clara Vanguard from 2020 to 2022. Their native instrument is flute, and during their time at UNT they performed on flute with the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Flute Choir. Abby graduated from Hebron High School in 2020, where they served as a 3-year drum major for the Hebron High School Band and performed with the Hebron Wind Symphony. Abby Rieger currently holds professional affiliations with Kappa Kappa Psi and Texas Music Educators Association.
Fun fact: Abby has a minor in Latin (the dead language). In their free time, they enjoy running, calligraphy, and spending time with friends and family.
They are very excited to give back to the Drum Corps activity they cherish so much, and to help provide a wonderful learning experience for the next generation of Crossmen Drum Majors!
