Brent Schooley
Tuba Instructor
Originally from southeast Michigan, Mr. Schooley started his musical journey as a tuba player in 1992. Mr. Schooley has been a performing member of the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps from Toledo, OH, Syracuse Brigadiers Drum and Bugle Corps from Syracuse, NY, and the United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps "The Commandant's Own" in Washington, D.C. After the Marines Mr. Schooley attended the University of North Texas in Denton, TX where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Music Education in (2011) and a Masters Degree in Music Education from Anderson University. While at UNT, Mr. Schooley was a member of the concert bands, brass band, Tuba and Euphonium ensembles, and Drum Major for the Green Brigade Marching Band. Mr. Schooley's primary teachers were Don Little, Nic Williams, and Dennis Fisher. Mr. Schooley has enjoyed a long history of teaching in all forms of marching band at every level throughout the country. Highlights of his educational journey through Drum Corps International include Blue Stars, Bluecoats, and Carolina Crown. Mr. Schooley is currently the director of bands at Woodmont High School in Greenville, SC.
When not working with students Mr. Schooley enjoys spending his time with his wife Cherie and three dogs, and wood working projects in his garage
