Nathan Aupied

Nathan Aupied is excited to join the visual staff for the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He will bring his 7 years of experience in the drum corps community. Nathan previously worked on the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps visual staff since 2017 and was assistant visual caption head the past 3 years. Prior to teaching, Nathan marched mellophone for 4 years with the Crossmen from 2011 to 2014. He was named Horn Sargent for his age out season. He is thrilled with the opportunity to work on the education side of his home corps.

Nathan is currently serving as Head Band Director for Mart ISD near Waco, Texas. Having 8 years of experience working in small K-12 schools in Texas, he teaches a wide range of students spanning from elementary to high school. Previously, he was assistant band director for Kerens ISD. While there, the band earned 5 sweepstakes awards, 3 area finals appearances, and placed 7th at the 2A State Marching Contest. He moved to Texas in 2016 after graduating from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor’s in music education. While studying there he played French horn in the university wind ensemble, orchestra, marching band, and student brass quintet. He has worked with several great Louisiana band programs including Ovey Comeaux High School and Lafayette High School.

Outside of the classroom, Nathan resides in Waco, Texas with his Fiancé, Rilyn and their 2 dogs. He enjoys traveling, hiking, fishing, and woodworking on his free time.
