Samantha Houston Brown
Instructor
Samantha Houston Brown has been involved in the marching arts since 2004. In high school, she competed in Bands of America and Winter Guard International with Odessa High School Band of Distinction, Odessa, Missouri. While attending the University of Kansas, she continued performing with various marching ensembles including the Marching Jayhawks, Synchronicity Winterguard, Avidity Independent Winterguard and a summer with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, from Santa Clara, California. She became a member of the Zeta Delta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma in 2008. In March of 2020, she was welcomed as an Honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi by the Epsilon Omega Chapter.
Samantha has experience instructing and choreographing for high school and collegiate bands and color guards in Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Texas, Hawaii and Nebraska. Previous DCI experience includes Visual and Color Guard staff for The Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps. She is completing her fifth year as the Color Guard Instructor for the University of Nebraska Cornhusker Marching Band. She has her Music Education Degree from the University of Kansas and a degree certification in Physical Therapist Assistant. Samantha is currently the Fitness Coordinator for Eastmont, a senior living community in Lincoln, NE.
